All of our fillings are metal-free & tooth-colored. At one time, silver mercury
fillings, or amalgams, were the only choice of filling material. Now, there is
something so much better! Over time, silver fillings leak bacteria underneath them
which forms recurrent decay which in turn discolors teeth & turns them black.
Silver fillings also expand and contract microscopically over time which can weaken
and break teeth, potentially creating a much more costly situation. Metal-free
fillings actually bond to the remaining tooth structure which pulls the tooth back
together & reinforces the strength of both the restoration and the tooth! They do
not contain mercury, they are stronger, and they look great!
